I have had these pictures on my camera for a liitle over a month. I packed my camera cord when we moved and just found it a couple days ago. I wanted to post these pictures. The first set is when david's aunt Sue was visiting Chicago for a nurse's conference. We all went to the Science museum and to the train restraunt, which is one of our favorites.

Lucy's first lost tooth

Lucy lost her very first tooth today. She was so excited. She started screaming, "I lost my tooth! I lost my tooth!" I am sure the whole neighborhood heard her. She is very excited to put her tooth under her pillow and see what the tooth fairy will bring her.

Life is so fragile.

My mom called me with terrible news today. She told me that Steven Curtis Chapman's youngest daughter had been killed in a tragic accident. I cried for them. I can't begin to even imagine the pain they must feel. I have been praying all day for them. I am praying that the Holy Spirit takes my feeble words and interceded for this precious family. I have been a huge fan of SCC since high school, and attend his concerts whenever I can. It was a program on Focus on the Family about adoption featuring SCC that lead David and I to finally stop talking and praying about adoption, and move forward.My children are also the same age as his daughter I spoke a little sweeter to Lucy and Sam today and hugged them a little longer. Oh God take our prayers support this family, speak grace and healing to their son. You can read more about this story.

praying for China

I read this article on Yahoo and thought it was one of the saddest stories I have ever read. I am linked to the precious, beautiful Chinese people forever, through my Sam. In the midst of the craziness of moving and packing I can get so wrapped up in myself and all my stress. Then I take a moment to sit and read Curious George Goes to the Hospital with Sam, and I hear Sam's sweet voice and look into his big gorgeous Asian eyes, and my heart cries for the mothers and fathers of China

My heart breaks for China

My heart is breaking for China tonight. It was hard to watch the video on the news tonight. I can't begin to imagine the horror of the parents waiting to hear whether their children are alive or dead. Please pray for the Chinese people. I have been so busy getting ready to move. I will try to post some new pictures this week.

My Samuel is off to Kindergarten

We had Samuel's conference today with his preschool teacher, and because I'm a proud Mommy I am going to brag on my boy a bit. Ms. Pam said Sam is doing very well. She said he is also very good at puzzles (which I knew) and that he finishes his work quickly, so that he can work on puzzles. She went out and bought a couple of 60 piece puzzles, because Sam and his friends were breezing through the others. She feels he is ready for Kindergarten. I was wondering about that because he won't be five until July. The speech therapist said he works really hard on his speech, which is all I could ask for, as long as he is working hard. Sam will have his ear tubes replaced and tonsils removed in June at Riley Children's in Indy. The next part of his surgery will take place four months after that. He will have a tongue release, because he is unable to move his tongue to the roof of his mouth. He will also have the part of his palate closed that they were unable to close during his last surgery. This is called a Fistula which according to the website cleftline.org is: An abnormal opening, usually referring to a hole in the palate after repair. I am very proud of Samuel and very thankful to God for bringing him half way across the world to me.
